it has been too long since my last post [have you missed me? i've missed you!] and there is a lot of updating to do! some of you may be wondering, she has been on maternity leave since the beginning of july, why hasn't she blogged? what has she been doing this whole time?
answer:
sleeping. thinking. sleeping. thinking. trying to get organized. cleaning, when my body feels up for it. sleeping. thinking. cleaning. organizing.
i do not sleep well at night, so i spend many mornings and afternoons dozing off in front of the t.v. snuggled up with my puppy-dog. it sounds nice, right? and i admit, most days it is nice and it is good that i have time to catch up on sleep now, but there has always been a list of things that i would like to accomplish during the day. and my o.c.d. can get the best of me when things do not get checked off my list. like everyone says though, getting rest is the most important thing so that when little lady finally does arrive, my body has energy to work through all that it will go through (eek!).
updating the blog has been on my list, but every time i sat down to write, i would get tired of looking at the screen. i would fold up the laptop and doze off for a while and wouldn't go back to it until the following week. i couldn't bring myself to updating--i really have to learn to write snippets of things that have occurred because if i think i do not have time now, i
really won't have time when the baby gets here. so here are some pictures of what we have been up to since the middle of may...
*i had a photo shoot with our friend's kara and dan and their bundle of joy, cameron :) i am so grateful when people ask me to capture their special moments, not only because it is something i really enjoy doing, but it helps me practice and get better. thank you, again! xo.

i had such a good time at the baby shower and thank everyone (especially my mom for putting it together and hosting it!) that was there and the friends and family that were there in spirit! tim, myself, and stella are incredibly grateful for the generous gifts to get us started with our new family. it is such a wonderful thing to see how much love a little person can get, even before they officially make their debut. thank you, thank you, thank you! we love you <3

*i had another photo shoot, which tim did some advertising for me for! one of his co-workers who is due at the end of august had set up a shoot with another photographer, but some rescheduling had to occur, which did not end up working out. so tim mentioned me and they liked what they saw on my Facebook page and asked me to do their pictures. i was nervous because they were people i had not met, but realized immediately that it was comforting that i did not know them ahead of time. it is one thing for people you just meet to judge your work, but it is a little more personal when close friends judge your work. kim and mike were so great to work with and i had fun capturing this special time in their lives. here are a few of my favorites!

where did the time go? we could not believe that a year has passed, sometimes it felt like more than a year actually, but what a first year it was! we added a dog to our lives (she's crazy but we (more i) love her!) and in human news, we are increasing our family of two to a family of three!! we are really excited, but it has made for one busy year! between getting ready for the baby and work (the two of us have had a challenging year at work) i am surprised the two of us never went to the looney bin!! i know i was close to it many times, but since i have my partner-in-crime by my side, he helps me vent and act crazy and then brings me back to reality <3
to celebrate, timmer surprised me with a night away at Traditions at the Glen. this hotel/resort is literally five minutes from our house, but it felt like we traveled out of town without the traveling! it was great! it was so relaxing -- timmer took care of dog-sitting arrangements and dinner and flowers and chocolate covered strawberries!

so that is what i/we have been up to the past few months, besides sanding. painting. cleaning. sleeping. eating. sleeping. cleaning. putting together furniture. i have not taken many pictures of stella's room, but will do that once it is completely finished. she is days away from arriving and yes, her room is not "complete". i am having ocd issues and will have a better idea of where i would like things once she is here, so eventually i will post pictures :)
